Fred Lopez (he/him)

Fred Lopez is a longtime LGBTQ+ community advocate and nonprofit professional. Prior to being named the Executive Director of TurnOut, Fred was a strategic partner and served on the organization's Board of Directors. He began his career working with pioneering gay/bi men's health promotion organization Gay City Health Project, while concurrently recruiting research participants for behavioral and clinical studies.

Fred was also a co-facilitator of the National Gay Men’s Health Movement Leadership Academies of the mid-2000s. Since then, he has worked with numerous Bay Area nonprofits such as the SF LGBT Center, Lyon-Martin Community Health, SFMOMA, and Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture. At San Francisco Pride, Fred served as Executive Director during the most challenging years of the global pandemic. Additionally, Fred has helped produce the Castro Street Fair as a board member for over fifteen years.
