Jody Schaffer (she/her)

Jody is a seasoned leader in non-profit healthcare, currently directing volunteer services for a prominent Bay Area health system. After a long tenure in a Chicago-area hospital, she moved to California in 2014, driven by a commitment to combat HIV and substance use stigma.

As a mother and LGBTQ+ ally, Jody passionately advocates for volunteerism's role in advancing social justice, especially in the queer community. She has been involved with TurnOut since its inception, now proudly serving on its board.

Outside work, Jody finds joy in hiking, road trips, and spending time with her chosen family who live in all areas of the country. She also, of course, volunteers whenever she can and encourages others to volunteer as well.
