Camping for a Cause: AIDS/Lifecycle

AIDS/LifeCycle is a 7 day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

Camp with the riders and roadies as you volunteer to help out on the ride! Volunteer Shifts are two days with the first day's shift starting at 3:30 pm and the second day's shift starting at 4 am. During the times you are not volunteering, you are free to enjoy the campgrounds!

It’s a life-changing ride—not a race—through some of California’s most beautiful countryside. Co-produced by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center, AIDS/LifeCycle advances these agencies’ shared interest in reducing new HIV infections and improving the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.

On Orientation Day thousands of Cyclists and Roadies will pour into the Cow Palace to begin their 2024 AIDS/LifeCycle experience. It takes hundreds of volunteers to ensure that the day runs smoothly and efficiently. Volunteers help all over the Cow Palace on Orientation Day doing various tasks including: Bike Parking, Traffic, Check-In, Camp Store, Thank you Gift distribution, and more!

By being a part of AIDS/LifeCycle, you will help us work towards the following:

  1. Fund the work of San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center to provide free HIV/AIDS medical care, testing, and prevention services.

  2. Raise awareness to end the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS.

  3. Provide a positive, life affirming experience for people affected by HIV/AIDS.

  4. Grow our community of activists, volunteers, and ambassadors fighting to end AIDS.

  5. Honor those who have passed from AIDS-related causes.
