Jesus Ramirez-Valles, Ph.D.

Dr. Ramirez-Valles is the country’s leading researcher on LGBTQ+ volunteerism.

He has published numerous studies on the motivations, challenges, and benefits of volunteerism among Latino gay men, transgender people, and people living with HIV.

During his more than 20 years in public health in the United States and Latin America, he has received awards from the National Institute of Health and The Rockefeller Foundation.

He serves as a council member for the National Institute for Minority Health and Disparities, and he is a trustee for the Society of Public Health Education (2010-2012).
