Queer Volunteering in Cuba, Peaches Christ, and Free Party Tickets!


Hey y'all!

Did you miss us? Probably not because we literally just wrote you on Tuesday, but there is just so much happening and we want you to know what's up.
Check out eight fabulous new volunteer opportunities below, including a queer volunteer trip to Cuba and a new Peaches Christ Productions show starring Raja, Ginger Minj, and Brook-Lynn Hytes.

Finally, we are very excited to be able to raffle off two pairs of tickets to two major events thrown by LGBTQ+ nonprofits coming up in the next two months: the SF LGBTQ+ Center Soiree and the Equality California SF Awards.

San Francisco: Peaches Christ Productions is back with a brand new production: First Wives Fight Club, starring Ginger Minj, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Raja and Peaches Christ herself. Volunteer for the matinee, evening show, and/or the meet-and-greet and see the show for free! April 7th - More info here!

San Francisco / Cuba: Rainbow World Fund is hosting an LGBTQ+ volunteer trip to Cuba and they are throwing a cocktail party fundraiser to help raise money to support their work. Volunteer to help at the fundraiser party, or join the trip! Learn more about both events and sign up here! 


San Francisco: Maitri provides compassionate residential care to men and women in need of hospice or 24-hour care. Bliss is their biggest fundraising event of the year, and volunteers are needed to help at the registration table, to serve as greeters, to set up the silent auction, and to serve as floaters and auction spotters. San Francisco: Positive Resource Center has partnered with the Giants at Oracle Park! This partnership requires at least 6 shifts at concession stands for each of 8 games, and a portion of sales from these concession shifts will go to PRC. Shifts will be 4-7 hours and will involve serving food. Learn more about this opportunity and sign up!


San Francisco: PRC's Client Services team for AIDS Emergency Fund financial assistance urgently needs volunteers to help them at their new 170 9th Street office. Shift times are 10:00 am-12:30 pm and/or 1:30-4:00 pm any weekday. Volunteers will help record client intake information, answer phones, and do filing. Learn more and sign up!


East Bay: The Gender Spectrum Conference provides an array of programs and activities for families with transgender, non-binary and otherwise gender-expansive children and youth. Volunteers needed for both days, positions include volunteers for the high school and middle school programs, as well as the 4th-5th grade camp and children's program. Learn more!

San Francisco: Openhouse enables San Francisco Bay Area LGBT seniors to overcome the unique challenges they face. Spring Fling is one of their biggest fundraisers, and they’re looking for volunteers! Shifts are 10 - 1:30 // 1:30 - 3:45 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, and roles include promoting and selling sweepstakes, and processing on Ipads. Learn more!  


Remote / From Home: TurnOut is recruiting a team of folks to help with social media-based fundraising for this year's Give OUT Day! Learn best practices in social media fundraising and help support a nonprofit you care about - us! The only requirement to participate is the willingness to spend 3 minutes per day on social media for 30 days. Learn more and sign up!

Remote / From Home: Paid PrEP Research Study! PrEP is a pill that prevents HIV. Join BrideHIV's PrEP research study where you will be asked to use a smartphone-based app to help support daily pill-taking and sexual activity tracking. BridgeHIV is looking for Black & Latinx men who have sex with men, HIV negative and between 18-35 years old. If eligible, you will be compensated up to $75 per visit. Learn more and sign up here!

East Bay: The Pacific Center is looking for a Program Assistant to the Deputy Director. The job is focused mostly on helping with the scheduling of volunteers but also doing some data entry and admin work. It is a very flexible role at 8 hrs/week. Compensation is $15/hr, unbenefited.
