A Note from the Director

Dear TurnOut Community,

It's hard to believe it's already been two months since I joined as Executive Director of TurnOut, and what a wonderful journey it has been so far! I've had the pleasure of meeting more than a few of our dedicated volunteers, and I gotta say I’m inspired by the passion and commitment each of you brings to our mission.

As we dive into the heart of our work, I'm excited to share some updates with you. We're currently in full swing, gearing up for two of our most significant events of the year: AIDS LifeCycle and San Francisco Pride. These events not only generate a ton of queer joy, but also serve as vital platforms for advocacy, education, and support. TurnOut is so pleased we can support these amazing events. If you haven’t signed up to join us at these events yet, there’s still time!

Volunteering lies at the core of our mission, and I want to take a moment to emphasize its profound impact. It's not just about lending a hand; it's about immersing yourself in your community’s vibrant tapestry, forging connections with diverse and fascinating individuals, and learning more about your own talents and passions. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or considering taking your first step, TurnOut is here to help guide you along your way.

Our commitment to connecting queer people and allies with meaningful volunteer opportunities remains strong. At TurnOut, we believe that each act of service, no matter how small, contributes to the collective effort of building stronger, more inclusive LGBTQ+ movements. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Together, let's continue to create positive change!

With gratitude,

Fred Lopez
