LGBT National Help Center - Telephone Peer-Support
LGBT National Help Center
The LGBT National Help Center provides vital peer-support, community connections and resource information to people with questions regarding sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
Are you caring? Non-judgmental? Are you a good listener? Do you want to be able to help the community nation-wide?
The LGBT National Help Center wants you!
Volunteering is tremendously rewarding – but it’s a big commitment.
We are always looking for new volunteers to staff our LGBT toll-free national hotlines.
Volunteers provide telephone peer-support, local resources and factual information. We ask telephone volunteers to make a minimum commitment of 2 or 2 ½ hours on the phone each week, the same time each week for at least six months after training is completed.
We search for volunteers who are very good listeners, are very non-judgmental and who are comfortable talking with callers about difficult issues they are dealing with.
In the San Francisco Bay Area volunteers will come into our office for training and shifts.
Remote volunteering now available!
Now you don’t have to live in the San Francisco Bay area to volunteer with the GLBT National Help Center. Let us know if you’re interested in volunteering remotely in the application, and we’ll give you all the details.
