NCTC’s vision is that theatre is a community event and a way to build community. he mission of New Conservatory Theatre Center is to champion innovative, high quality productions & educational theatre experiences for youth, artists, and the queer & allied communities to effect personal & societal growth, enlightenment and change.
NCTC seeks an energetic Development Intern to support our two-person Development Department and organizational fundraising efforts.
The Development Intern will acquire substantial, hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, corporate & local sponsorships, and special events.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and computer skills and thrive in a dynamic and creative environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Research & solicit local business and corporate sponsorship opportunities.
Assist with Direct Mail campaigns (including NCTC’s holiday appeal, subscription renewal and end of year appeal).
Assist with collateral/promotional material design & maintenance.
Assist with the production of high-quality digital fundraising materials, including video content for appeals and content creation, design, & formatting of twice yearly donor newsletters.
Assist with NCTC special events (guest list management, set-up, guest check-in, breakdown).
Perform a variety of departmental administrative duties such as data entry, general correspondence, filing, reporting, and scanning.
Occasional staffing & management of NCTC’s Donor Lounge.
Draft & maintain Development’s social media calendar and make weekly posts.
Other projects as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Ability to commit to at least one day (8 hours) per-week for three months.
Office hours are Monday-Saturday. Evening & weekend availability preferred.
Minimum two years undergraduate education (or equivalent experience).
Interest or experience in theatre, arts administration, or nonprofit fundraising & management.
Excellent research, writing, communication and organizational skills.
Adobe CS & Final Cut Pro experience highly desirable.
