Project Eden is a program of Horizon Services, Inc, a non-profit community based organization committed to reducing alcohol and other drug related problems within the community.
Project Eden began in 1967 as a volunteer effort when Dr. Art Bolten, a pediatrician specializing in adolescents medicine, met with officials from the Hayward and Castro Valley School Districts to discuss their mutual concerns about the escalating drug problems of the community's youth.
For thirty years, Project Eden has provided a wide variety of substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment services to children, adolescents, adults and families in South Alameda County. In 1993, Project Eden Became a part of Horizon Services, Inc. which provides an array of substance abuse programs in the Bay Area.
