Volunteer with the National AIDs Memorial April 13th - October 1st

Support the National AIDS Memorial movement by digitizing the AIDS Memorial Quilt!

Volunteers will help support with the following:

• The volunteer will be directly handling and working with the AIDS Memorial Quilt.

• Blocks of Quilt are pulled from stacks on pallets, one at a time 

•  Blocks are opened up and laid out on a cushioned mat 

• Volunteers will assess each block for repairs while cleaning off

• debris from block using lint brushes and cutting away random threads

•  If repairs are needed, form is filled out and pinned to block then

• transferred to Gert at Quilt Warehouse 

• Blocks are then brought to the area next to photograph area

• Ability to lift 15-20 lbs. Bending and kneeling a lot

This event is in person located at 14212 Doolittle Drive, San Leandro, CA  94577.

This project runs from April 13, 2026 to Oct 1, 2026. Shift times are between  10am - 1pm and 12pm - 3pm.
