G4G SF + Rotary Club + YMCA

Gay For Good volunteers will be supporting the Rotary Club of San Francisco and the Bayview Hunter’s Point YMCA at their 14th Annual Bike Build event. You will be assembling 150 brand new bikes for distribution to kids in Kindergarten through Third Grade in the Bayview area of San Francisco.

There are two volunteer shifts, Shift One is bike assembly (25 volunteers needed) and Shift Two is bike distribution and cleanup (10 volunteers needed). Shift two is now FULL. Both shifts run for four hours. They ask that you only sign-up for one shift to allow more volunteers to participate at this service event. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to volunteers.

  • Date: Saturday, April 13

  • Shift 1: 8am–Noon— Bike Assembly

  • Shift 2: 11:30am–3:30pm—Bike Distribution and Cleanup (FULL)

  • Location: TogetherSF Warehouse, 2505 Mariposa Street, San Francisco, CA 94110. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift. We’ll meet in front of the warehouse for introductions and a photo.

  • Recommended Attire: Please wear comfortable shoes as you will be on your feet. Volunteers are encouraged to wear their Gay For Good t-shirts.

  • COVID Guidelines: Masks are optional. Please cancel if you are not feeling well.

  • Project Lead: Bryan (he/him) and Barry (he/him)

  • Age Requirements: Volunteers must be 21 years of age.

Bayview Hunters Point YMCA —For more than 160 years, the YMCA has addressed the most pressing social issues of the day—whether helping newcomers adjust to life in America, providing safe spaces for youth from all backgrounds to learn and grow and inspiring action in and across our communities.
