Save the Bay & TurnOut's LGBTQ+ Nursery Gardening Day

Join Save the Bay & TurnOut for an LGBTQ+ Nursery Gardening Day from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM!

It is planting season! All the work we’ve done throughout the year collecting seed, growing and caring for our precious native plants has been leading to this moment right as the seasonal rains are here. We hope you will join us in putting these plants in the ground at the MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline in Oakland, CA, where they will help restore vulnerable bay fill lands back into healthy and resilient salt marsh habitat for all.

Accessibility: This program involves walking on paved trails and working on a sloped dirt surface. There is a restroom and water fountain onsite. Planting involves kneeling or sitting on potentially uneven or muddy terrain. Parking is directly adjacent to the planting area.

Please dress according to the weather, bring a water bottle and a snack. Gloves, hand picks, foam kneepads and/or other necessary tools will be provided. Programs may be cancelled in the event of heavy winds, poor air quality and/or lightning. Weather is changeable in the Bay, so Save The Bay will make the call one hour before the start of program. We cannot wait to see you out there!
