TurnOut & Point Blue Conservation Science: Native Plant Species Planting

We’re excited to host another event featuring Point Blue Conservation Science & TurnOut! Volunteering with Point Blue & TurnOut at the Novato Baylands is a fantastic way to get involved in wetland restoration along the shore of San Pablo Bay.

Through this fieldwork with the native plant nursery, you'll meet new queer and trans people who share a passion for this important work. You can get up close and personal with some of the special plants and animals that call the Novato Baylands home!

Planned activity: Planting some native plant species in one of our restoration zones within the Bel Marin Keys Complex to support habitat enhancement for native species and soil health.

What to bring: Please bring your own closed-toe shoes for working in dirt/mud, sun protection, layers, water, and snacks as needed. We will have an extra igloo of water, some snacks, all tools needed, gloves, first aid, and some rain boots available.

Rain: Light rain will not cancel the event. If it is pouring, we will cancel (we'll keep tabs on the weather beforehand and be in touch should this be expected). If it's helpful, I'd propose that November 14th could be a rain-out date for this event and we can reserve this date on the calendar if people might be available to volunteer on this day instead of the 7th if it rains.
